# Getting Started

Prodigy puts a lot of power at your fingertips. You have everything from Items to Doors that you can build a game with! Jumping into this much content blind can be overwhelming so be sure to go through these docs and review the creative workflow so that you aren't lost when working on your project!\
\
First thing to do is get a grasp on how you can create content, so step right into the beginning of the [How To](/prodigy/how-to....md) section and work through it, then for more context and understanding of "why" and "how" you can review the [Design Spaces](/prodigy/design-spaces.md) section. This will help you know why things are the way they are and make the experience a lot better.

### Flow

You can basically put the `Scene Proxy` prefab into any scene and it will spawn all necessary components to let you play the game in that scene. the `Bootstrap System` is a prefab that contains everything you need to get going, including input and game ui.

It is recommended that you check out the demo scenes available and poke around with the prefabs to see how things work.

### Characters

When making new characters the easiest way is to just duplicate an existing prefab, change the model object and update the Animator avatar reference. Configure everything else in Vault Dashboard. Add Weapon Mount points in the hierarchy and reference them in the Equipment component if you want better mount precision.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://lanefox.gitbook.io/prodigy/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
